Our Story Golden Touch Naturals is the online farm store for Golden Touch Farm, an alpaca farm in Westport, MA. Chris and Shelley Riley started raising Alpacas over 8 years ago, and quickly fell in love with these charismatic animals and their luxurious fiber. Each year they utilized their fiber yield and had it manufactured in the U.S. into finished alpaca goods, for the purpose of sharing with friends, family, and neighbors who were intrigued by the animals. Quickly word of mouth spread, and it was common place to find random cars parked on the side of the road admiring the alpacas in the front field. People kept emailing and calling asking where they could purchase the alpaca socks from our farm, as well as scheduling farm visits to come out and get a first hand experience with the alpacas. Both Chris and Shelley felt that it was finally time to share their animals and the products made from North American Alpaca Fiber with a wider audience, and decided there is no better place to do that than an online store. Chris and Shelley bring a Back to the Basics mind set when it comes to running their farm and their business. They believe in sustainability, as well as Eco and Social responsibility. They took these core values and wanted to make sure they applied to Golden Touch Naturals and all the products it carries. Their hypoallergenic un-dyed alpaca products are made from North American Alpaca Fiber pooled together from across the country and manufactured in certified green and family operated businesses peppered throughout New England. Along side their alpaca clothing and accessories, they both wanted to showcase some other unique and like minded products also handcrafted and made in the New England Area. They made a call out to local artisans and crafters and started building relationships with a wide variety of skilled and responsible people and businesses. The number one priority when seeking out similar styled products was they all had to be Guilt Free. Guilt Free can mean many things, but to Golden Touch Farm, it symbolizes responsible artisans and businesses who use only the freshest and highest quality ingredients, supplied by other local businesses, to produce a sustainable and Eco-conscious item. The story behind how a product is made, how and out of what it is made, where and by who it was made, and who benefits from the sale of it should all be positive. More and more consumers are realizing the impact of their purchasing decisions especially in their local economies and communities. There is a feel good story behind each and every item we carry, and we can't wait to share it with you.
